Even More Unexpected Blessings
Although we had higher expectations of opening the Bookfair when setting sail from Curacao to St Vincent, we have learnt that nothing is certain until it is happening (or already happened is some circumstances).
We are now in St Vincent and after a number of meetings and discussions regarding protocols we are now open! The Bookfair is currently operating in the retail area of the Cruise Ship Terminal.
Although we have a limit of 25 people in the Bookfair area at a time, we have had visitors and sales every day. In addition to the Terminal Bookfair, we have a mobile booktable which we are setting up in a new community each week. This means that people don’t have to travel all the way to Kingstown in order to be able to purchase books.
Prayer: Please pray for ongoing strength for the Bookfair team as we open onshore, and for the rest of the crew and staff as they head out on weekly c-days (Connect days) to various ministry projects.
Prayer: Please pray that we would have the opportunity to open on board and make many more titles available to our visitors.
Praise: Thank God for each and every book and Bible that we are able to sell and the many conversations happening with visitors.
Come and Join Us
Since the pandemic started over a year ago, the number of crew and staff on board has been slow by steadily decrease. Our community, which is usually 370 to 400 strong plus guests, volunteers and other OMers, is current around 240.
Has God been challenging you to step out of your comfort zone? To become more involved in His mission to reaching and redeeming the world? Logos Hope could be that next step.
Our next intake of crew and staff takes place in Sept… There is still time to apply and join us as we work hard and trust God to share knowledge, help and hope with the people we meet in the ports we visit. And if that seems to soon, February is also an option.
Prayer: For God to lead more people to come and serve on board Logos Hope (and for those people to be obedient).
Praise: For those that are planning to join in September and that each of them would be able to get to the ship.
