Dear Partners,
While we are incredibly grateful for the space and time OM in Austria has given us to settle in, and find our bearings in Linz, we are so excited to share that we’ve started in our roles. For both of us the main focus this year is learning language and culture, and getting to know people.
For Dané this has meant reading up on OM in Austria’s People Care Policies, catching up on newsletters from the end of last year, a few other administrative tasks, and further People Care short courses. Dané is most excited about connecting with team members and figuring out how to serve each one as an individual as well as the team as a whole.
For me (John) this has meant connecting with other ministry leaders that OM works closely with, reviewing this years mobilising events and opportunities, and spending some time dreaming about how we can engage OM Alumni in Austria. I am most excited about the work that is already being done by committed and vibrant Jesus followers and the potential there is in Austria to see God’s Kingdom come in unexpected and life changing ways.
One of the first ways God gave for man to glorify Him was to work, and we are so grateful that we get to take the skills and experiences that we have and use them to meet a need in the church and in the world. It is a privilege we don’t take lightly.
As this year gets going we are very aware of the importance of your prayer and financial support – we literally couldn’t be here without it. We still need about €700 in monthly support in order to keep serving in Austria. Please consider helping in one of the following ways:
- Praying with us – that God would direct us to invite the right people to partner with us, and that He would lead the right people to commit to this work together.
- Increasing your giving – we understand that some of you have just started or that budgets might just not allow for it, but even just a small increase goes a long way towards our support target.
