Hello there!
We are the Benns… John, Dané, Cori and Lily, and we are a long-term, full-time Missionary family of Home Ground Westville Baptist Church, serving with the missions organisation Operation Mobilisation (OM).
But why?
The Lausanne Covenant states that “evangelization requires the whole church to take the whole gospel to the whole world’. As part of that ‘whole church’ we are following God’s leading to fulfil our part, as faithfully as we can, in taking the whole gospel to the whole world.
- We believe that God has given us skills, talents, interests, energy, time and passion that we need to use intentionally and diligently so that the Gospel can go out to every continent, country, people group, city, neighbourhood and home across the whole world. The purpose He has placed in our hands and on our hearts is to care for, coach and encourage disciple-makers serving on the mission field.
- We are part of a local church that believes the every local church has a responsibility to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth. Home Ground seeks to transform lives, transform church and transform communities and have committed to sending us as part of our church community’s response to Jesus’ commission in Matthew 28.
- Operation Mobilisation is a established, trusted and effective mission organisation committed to esteeming and supporting the Church in it’s task of reaching the whole world. OM’s vision is to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached. Our Holy Ambition is to see 25 000 vibrant communities planted each year by the year 2030, a goal that undoubtedly requires the whole church – preachers, pastors, prayer warriors, financial partners, civil servants, Missionaries, business owners, teachers, students, parents, retirees, professionals, and on and on and on – to take seriously their part in the Great Commission.
What, how, and where?
Caring for, coaching and encouraging Jesus-followers could take many different forms. We are passionate about meeting people where they are in their relationship with God, supporting what they are doing, challenging them to go deeper, and bringing them along in the work that God is already doing in the world.
The specific opportunity that we have been invite to is to serve as part of OM’s work in Austria.
In the role of Church Partnership and Mobilisation, John will be journeying with Christians, pastors and church communities in Austria to engage more deeply with what God is doing in their neighbourhoods, in their cities, in their country and across the whole world.
In the role of People Care Provider, Dané will be creating space, time and structures to ensure that those who are serving with OM in Austria and sent out by OM from Austria are able to thrive as they follow God’s leading in their lives.

We count ourselves blessed to be able to call Home Ground Westville Baptist Church our primary spiritual home and sending church. As missionaries we believe it is incredibly important to have a church that believes in and supports the work that we are doing.
Home Ground believes in the transformative work of the Gospel and the power of God to transform individuals, transform church, and transform communities.

Operation Mobilisation is an international missions organisation with over 3000 workers serving in over 140 countries.
OM’s vision is to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers amongst the least reached. Their Holy Ambition is to see 25 000 new communities of Jesus follower established each year, by 2030.
